We have made it through another week of our Spring 2021 internship program and our interns have showed a large amount of growth since the beginning of our term. This week, sticking out among our cohort for intern of the week is Julia Downs!
Julia is currently a junior at Illinois State University and she is studying Marketing with a sequence in Professional Sales and Integrated Marketing Communications. She plans to graduate next Spring in 2022. Julia is also the president of the business fraternity Phi Beta Lambda at ISU.
We have been evaluating our interns throughout the semester and Julia has shown great professionalism and an increased interest in the field. Week to week she and her group have come together to meet the quotas given. Julia has stepped up and taken control of end of the week presentations of calls and quotas made.
We talked to Julia more and learned a little about where she wants to go following her time with SSG!
Q: In terms of long term career objectives, what are some goals you wish to achieve down the road?

A: Sprekk has given me the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed within the medical device sales industry which has brought me much happiness. The time and hard work that has been put into this position has taught me what I would like to achieve in the future. Interning with SSG has allowed me to connect with multiple physicians and staff at prospecting locations therefore giving me the ability to use my sales techniques. This internship has pushed me to do hard work, given me the opportunity to help others using medical devices, and discover a whole lot of new things within the industry and neuromodulation technology.

I plan on utilizing these skills within the next year and after graduation in order to be offered a job that I am passionate about.
Q: What type of industry, program or graduate studies do you see yourself pursuing upon finishing school?
A: As a junior, I am open to new experience and opportunities that come my way. I have been in multiple sales positions in different industries so that has definitely given me some insight.
