As the first month of our program comes to a close, our interns were given a review on the science behind pain management and pain treatment devices. Caleigh Achim stood out amongst our cohort and demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the field.
Caleigh is currently a junior at the University of Missouri – Columbia studying Health Sciences with an emphasis in Health and Wellness Services. Caleigh is also working toward minoring in Human Development and Family Sciences.
Since the start of the program Caleigh has displayed her ability to quickly understand new concepts and reach out for clarification on the things she doesn’t know. She has continuously raised the level of her peers and leads by example.
Our team got the opportunity to dive deeper into Caleigh’s goals and objectives throughout her time at SSG and what she plans on pursuing following her completion of the program.
Q: In terms of long term career objectives, what are some goals you wish to achieve down the road?
A: Succeeding graduation, I will be pursuing a medical sales position at a dynamic company and begin building a strong network with professionals in the field. I would also enjoy furthering my education because medical terminology and related knowledge is the foundation for selling confidently to customers and positively interacting with health-care professionals.
Q: How do you believe Sprekk Supply Group can aid your journey to achieving these goals?
A: The competitive edge that SSG thrives on has already become evident in my initial time here. The company culture is top notch and is extremely driven to aiding in taking our skills to the next level of this industry. SSG sets the standards that I find personally motivating and they challenge me to achieve my best work. The dedication to education here is eminent and the information we are learning covering both medical health-care and business sales concepts, will prove to be very valuable in my future occupational endeavors.
Q: What are the skills you wish to gain from this internship program and how do you plan to utilize these skills to achieve your long term career objectives?
A: The key is to continue to consolidate the basic skill sets I initially brought to the program and assemble those with the new techniques and expertise I derive from my experience with SSG in order to excel in this field. I look forward to mastering how to gear presentations towards Medical Professionals and learning how to adjust sales strategies in real time to achieve success. The ability to adapt and enhance skills will always remain an essential ongoing mission for a medical device representative.
Q: What type of industry, program or graduate studies do you see yourself pursuing upon finishing school?
A: I would like to remain as open minded as possible in these early stages of my career, but I can already sense that I have a deep interest in the technical aspects of medical sales. I truly enjoy being able to communicate and sell products with a rich knowledgeable base. For that reason, I definitely have my sights set on pursuing job opportunities within the Medical Device Sales industry.
Having Caleigh on our team has raised the bar for our entire cohort of interns and we can’t wait to watch her progress throughout our Spring 2021 Internship Program!
